The rain certainly didn't put a dampener on the success of our cheesemakers on the opening day at the Royal Bath & West Show as we picked up an incredible 54 awards between us! There were hundreds of entries in an international line-up which included cheeses from France, Greece and Italy, making the Bath & West one of the top British cheese events.
Nevertheless, dedication, tradition and the best milk in the world made sure handmade West Country Farmhouse Cheddar came out on top. Up on last year’s wins, the group’s 12 members romped home with 20 gold, 14 silver and 12 bronze medals and 8 special awards between them.
