The 15th Annual British Cheese Awards
It's the cheese world's version of the Oscars, and this year it has a new home. The 15th Annual British Cheese Awards take place on the eve of the Great British Cheese Festival, staged this year for the first time in its new home of Cardiff Castle on the weekend of September 27th and 28th.
The food world will certainly be keeping a close eye on Cardiff this weekend, both on the results of the awards, and for the Festival taking place in the beautiful grounds of this lovely castle.
Members of West Country Farmhouse Cheesemakers will be hoping to improve on last year's impressive effort, where the group scooped over 25 awards.

Royal ploughmans for the Countess
After last years washout , the sun shone brightly on The Countess of Wessex as she attended the PDO lunch and presented Parkham farms with cups for both the reserve champion cheese and best PDO West Country Farmhouse cheddar. The show was a triumph for our other farmhouse cheesemakers too with a total of 40 medals and 7 special awards, just rewards for all the care and craftsmanship that goes into all our handmade cheeses.
